It is really hard for a young Colombian to make a name for himself in the world of Cycling. It's a tough journey and very few make it (Fabio Duarte,Rigoberto Uran come to mind). In the past, colombian riders were second to none in the cycling world. Some even were really big stars like Lucho Herrera and Fabio Parra in the 80's. The first won Vuelta and the second was 3rd in the Tour. But now a bunch of new kids are making the country proud once again. Esteban Chaves is the Colombian promise for the future. Same as his compatriot Quintana, he also won the Tour de l'Avenir. Also same as all Colombian riders, he comes from a very humble background. His family in the picture surely look proud. Lets hope he gets lucky and soon a big team signs him.
