Today in Amurrio, Oscar Freire took over my leader jersey. I decided not to participate in the sprint because it was a matter of specialists and I did not want to take any risks today. I had to think about final victory next Saturday in Orio.
But Oscar was there sprinting for victory and considering the fact that the bunch broke, I lost two seconds. As we were in the same time this morning before the start, he is the new leader of the race and I am the second.
I do not worry too much because the race is not finished yet and between the difficult stage of Thursday and the time trial of Saturday, many things can happen.
Today the weather was not as nice as the two previous days and it was rather cold at the start. Later it was a little bit sunny and the weather was in fact perfect for racing. Lets’ hope it will be the same tomorrow, and no rain.
Today we had dinner earlier than yesterday which gave us time after we finished to go in the bus and drink a hot chocolate. We sat there for a while talking and now, after I have written these few lines I will watch TV for a while before I fell asleep.
